Staff from the University of Gdańsk Library at the Being SEA-EU Conference

Katarzyna Skała and Alicja Tuchacz-Kurdziel from the Bibliography and Bibliometrics Department of the University of Gdańsk Library represented our Library at the third edition of the international “Being SEA-EU” conference, which took place September 15–17, 2026, at the University of Gdańsk.

The “Being SEA-EU” conference is the largest event on the calendar of the alliance of nine European coastal universities. This year’s edition provided an opportunity to summarize seven years of collaboration, present achievements to date, and discuss the future of the SEA-EU alliance and the “European Universities” program.

On the first day of the event, staff from the University of Gdańsk Library gave a presentation titled “SEA-EU Brings People Together: How Does Collaboration Shape Institutions? A Case Study of the University of Gdańsk Library.” The presentation took place as part of the panel “Institutional Transformation, Internationalization, and University Development,” dedicated to institutional transformation, internationalization, and university development.

Katarzyna Skała and Alicja Tuchacz-Kurdziel presented various forms of international cooperation undertaken by the University of Gdańsk Library. Among other things, they discussed the experiences gained by librarians during staff exchange weeks abroad, as well as meetings and knowledge exchange with representatives of universities belonging to the SEA-EU network and other foreign institutions.
